Sparkle & Spell Co. is an online store based in Auckland, New Zealand. We do not have a physical store to visit, so orders will need to be placed through our online store and are then shipped out. 

ARE YOUR POTIONS NON-TOXIC?

100%, this is super important to us that! Our potions are made with 100% food-grade products and safe (including the glitter) for little ones to play with. However, they haven't been prepped in a commercial kitchen so they are not intended for consumption, plus all the bubbles will give the little ones a sore tummy anyway. All our products are GF by ingredient. 

WHAT IS IN YOUR POTIONS?

Sadly, we can't give you the recipe, but we can tell you what may be in each of our potions. 

Our potions can include a magical mixture of ingredients, such as baking soda, citric acid, food colouring, mica powders, herbal flowers, glitter and small natural crystals.

Safety Note:  When playing with potions, please avoid contact with the face, especially the eyes as part of our recipe are acidic. If irritation occurs, please rinse with water immediately. 

ARE YOUR POTIONS SAFE FOR COELIACS?

One of our daughters is a coeliac so this is a really important question to us. All our potions are gluten free by ingredient, however some may have been originally packaged where gluten has processed. So, it's not certified 'Gluten Free' but our products are not intended for consumption anyway. What we recommend is thorough hand washing after play and before eating, which is advised anyway. Our girl is highly sensitive to gluten and we have not had any issues after play, so rest assured your little coeliac will love this activity too. 

DO YOU MAKE YOUR POTIONS?

Yes, we make all our potions and package them.

DO YOU SUPPLY LARGER PACKS FOR SCHOOLS/DAYCARES/KINDYS?

This is something we am working on and hoping to release an option in the near future! If you are interested, please fill our the Contact Us form and we will pop you on the list. Until then... watch this space.

ARE ANY TREES HARMED IN THE MAKING OF YOUR WANDS?

Absolutely not! We love trees and ensure we only forage for branches that have fallen from our family forest in Waipu. We have plenty of trees so there are lots of wands to be made. 

HOW ARE THE WANDS SHIPPED?

If wands are purchased individually, they are wrapped in a cardboard protector, then they are shipped out in a poster tube. You can reuse the tube, get the kids to make something with it or recycle the tube and dispose of the caps in the rubbish. The cardboard protector can be recycled, but I bet the kids will love playing with it. 

ARE THE WANDS ONLY IN LIMITED NUMBERS?

We tend to make small batches of wands to keep them unique. We may remake one's that are popular, however each wand is unique in itself as they are hand painted and the curve of the branch is always different. We love that they are quirky! If you are after a larger quantity, please get in touch as we may be able to make some for you. 

CAN I EDIT THE DIGITAL PRODUCT I ORDERED?

No, you have purchased a final version of the product, which is considered a piece of artwork. 

Our digital products are not physical products. We send a digital version and it's up to you to print the item. This digital product will be emailed to you when it has been completed.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY DIGITAL LETTER OR INVITATION?

If the digital product is a customised product, then we need to create it for you so that it is personalised for your child. We need 2 business days to create this for you. If we get it finished early we will send it to your asap! Please check your SPAM email before emailing us as it may be waiting for you in there.  

THERE IS A MISTAKE IN MY DIGITAL PRODUCT

Eek! We are very sorry for this, however sometime human error occurs. Please let us know asap at emma@sparkleandspell.co.nz and we will rectify that for you as soon as we can

Sparkle & Spell Co. is committed to eco-friendliness wherever possible, and our packaging is almost entirely recyclable or home compostable. Here's how you can dispose of the items in your packages responsibly:

Home Compostable: Potion ingredient 'plastic' packaging and the product stickers (except gold Sparkle & Spell Co. stickers), paper, tissue paper, potion bowl, mixing bowl, spoon and wooden stirrer.

Recyclable: Paper, tissue paper, paper string, cardboard and the Fairy Wishes tin, Magic Wand shipping tube.

Household Rubbish: Sparkle & Spell Co. gold sticker and potion glitter (see below). Magic Wand shipping tube caps.

Although our potion glitter is food grade, it is not biodegradable. Until we source a new product, we've given suggestions for disposal of the liquid below:

• Pour it on the grass or garden and let it sparkle and disperse over time, our kids love this as its like the fairies live in our garden. 
• If you would like to keep it out of the waterways, you can place a paper towel on a sieve and pour the potion slowly into the sieve over a cup/bowl. The paper towel will drain the water and collect the glitter which you can then dispose of in your household rubbish.
